Why do people fear death, even though it is more comfortable than life, and "Death is sufficient as a preacher for whoever would take heed"? And knowing that a time will come when, if death could be bought with money, people would buy it, even if they were doing good deeds?

Fear of death is of two types: The first is natural and not blameworthy, and the second is blameworthy, which is weakness, excessive worldly concern, and heedlessness of the Hereafter. Death is a relief for the believer from the hardships of this world, while for the disbeliever and hypocrite, it hastens their punishment. A long life is better for the believer, so he may increase in good deeds or repent. The Prophet forbade wishing for death because it cuts off righteous deeds.
