Has it been reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) removed his shoes upon entering a graveyard?

It was authentically reported from the Prophet (peace be upon him) that he said to a man walking between graves with his sandals on, "O owner of the two sandals, cast them off." It has not been established that he (the Prophet) took off his sandals upon entering a graveyard. Scholars interpreted the prohibition as a matter of dislike (karahah), based on his (peace be upon him) saying: "Indeed, he hears the sound of their sandals."
