Is praying in mosques threatened with bombing, and staying in homes threatened with destruction, considered jihad or casting oneself into perdition?

One should refer to trustworthy scholars in the inquirer's country, as they are more knowledgeable about the local circumstances. It appears that if there is an anticipated benefit from not abandoning prayer in the mosque or not leaving homes, then there is no harm in staying home and performing prayers in the mosques. This is not considered suicide or throwing oneself into destruction. Judge Abu Bakr Ibn Al-Arabi mentioned in "Ahkam al-Qur'an," when interpreting the verse: "And do not throw yourselves with your own hands into destruction," that it is permissible for a single man to advance against a great army if he possesses strength and a pure intention, seeking martyrdom, inflicting harm, emboldening Muslims, and weakening the spirits of the enemies.
