Is the Hadith, "Seek help in fulfilling your needs through secrecy and by traveling part of the night, for the earth is traversed by night," one Hadith or two? What is its درجه (authenticity/ranking)? Does "the earth is traversed" refer to the physical shortening of distances or the ease of travel at night? And is the Hadith implying that cavalry travel twice the distance at night as they do during the day?

The Hadith: "Seek help for the success of your needs through concealment, for every possessor of a blessing is envied" is an independent Hadith, and Al-Albani graded it Sahih (authentic).

As for the phrase "and a part of the night journey (duljah)," it is part of another Hadith narrated by Al-Bukhari and others in the context of the ease of religion and good deeds. It encourages seeking help with the early morning journey (ghadwah), the late afternoon journey (rawhah), and the night journey (duljah) to achieve one's goal.

The Hadith: "You must undertake the night journey (duljah), for the earth is traversed swiftly at night," was graded Sahih by Al-Albani. Scholars explained the swift traversing of the earth at night to mean that the riding animal is stronger and more active for travel at night due to the absence of heat.
