Is it permissible for a young man to pray in congregation with his family at home, or is it obligatory for him to go to the distant mosque that he can reach?

The Shari'ah has affirmed the obligation of congregational prayer, even in situations of fear and war, citing the Almighty's words: "And when you are among them and lead them in prayer, let a group of them stand [in prayer] with you and let them take their weapons. And when they have prostrated, let them be behind you; and let another group come that has not prayed and let them pray with you, and let them take their precautions and their weapons." [An-Nisa:102]. Furthermore, it did not permit a blind person to abandon it if he heard the call, and the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, intended to burn the houses of those who stayed behind. Therefore, it is obligatory for anyone who hears the call to go to the mosque for congregational prayer, as its virtue is immense, surpassing individual prayer by twenty-seven degrees.
