What is the ruling on a husband saying to his wife: "I am the lord of your blessings"?

It is not permissible for a husband to remind his wife of his generosity regarding what he spent on her, whether it be obligatory or voluntary expenses, because reminding of generosity is among the major sins.

However, for one who has been treated badly, it is not forbidden for him to remind of generosity in that case.

Regarding the phrase: "(Your Lord of bounty)," if what is meant by "bounty" is financial support and the like, then it does not appear to be forbidden, for "Lord" in the Arabic language means owner and reformer.

As for the Hadith: "Let none of you say, 'Water your lord...'" the apparent meaning is referring to attributing lordship to a son of Adam. Scholars have mentioned that the prohibition of saying "my lord" to a slave is not for حرمة (prohibition) but for أدب (propriety), or against saying it frequently, and not against uttering it in rare circumstances.
