Is a mother's obedience to be prioritized over memorizing the Qur'an, especially since she fears for her son from his father and the authorities, while memorizing the Qur'an in their city is a communal obligation (fard kifaya) that has not been fulfilled?

Obeying and honoring one's parents is among the greatest acts of obedience, but it must not involve disobedience [to God]. If your mother commands you to change the method of memorizing the Quran for your safety, then you must obey her and memorize the Quran at home. There is no contradiction between her command and memorizing the Quran; rather, the contradiction lies in the method of memorization. The fact that memorizing the Quran is a communal obligation (fard kifaya) does not diminish your concern for it, as it may become an individual obligation (fard ayn). Memorizing, learning, and teaching the Quran are unsurpassed in virtue, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The best among you are those who learn the Quran and teach it."
