Is it sufficient to notify the owners of programs containing ambiguities, or must I notify the friend to whom I introduced them, knowing that I have abandoned him due to his misconduct?

If you are certain that your friend is misusing a particular program, you should advise him and remind him that these technologies are a blessing that must be used in ways that please Allah. Abandonment before admonition is wrong; the correct approach is to advise first. If he persists in falsehood, then abandoning him is permissible if it deters him, or if you fear being influenced by his falsehood, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, did with the three who were left behind. As for one who is not affected by abandonment, he should not be abandoned; rather, one should continue to advise him and invite him with that which is better, because abandonment in this case is useless and contradicts the methodology of the prophets in inviting their peoples.
