What is the ruling regarding a group of people who advise others to abandon innovations (bidʻah), yet they themselves do not abandon them?

"Whoever warns against innovations and sins must be the furthest from them, otherwise, he deserves Allah's wrath and punishment, as Allah Almighty says: 'O you who have believed, why do you say what you do not do? Great is hatred in the sight of Allah that you say what you do not do.' And in the Hadith: 'A man will be brought on the Day of Resurrection and thrown into the Fire... They will say: O so-and-so, what is wrong with you? Were you not enjoining good and forbidding evil? He will say: Yes, I used to enjoin good but did not do it, and I used to forbid evil but committed it.' It is necessary to advise these people, guide them, encourage them towards the Sunnah, and warn them against innovations. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: 'Religion is naseehah (sincere advice),' and 'Help your brother, whether he is an oppressor or oppressed!' If advice does not benefit, then the Muslim should distance himself from them and warn anyone he fears might be affected by their innovation."
