Is it permissible to seek divorce from a husband who refuses to study after agreeing to it, refuses to undergo examination for procreation, is unemotional, does not trust her, and insults her by describing her as a "donkey and mindless"?

If a husband promises his wife that he will allow her to study, and this was not a condition in the marriage contract, then he is not obliged to fulfill his promise. However, if the wife stipulated in the marriage contract that she would complete her studies, then the condition is valid and binding, and she has the right to annul the marriage if the husband violates it.

Fulfilling the condition is recommended, but not obligatory, according to the Hanbalis, so the husband does not sin by violating it. However, Sheikh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah holds that fulfilling such conditions is obligatory.

The husband should ascertain the reason for not conceiving and seek medical treatment if the ailment is from him. If he refuses, the wife has the right to seek divorce.

The husband must treat his wife with kindness and have a good opinion of her. If he curses or insults her without justification, she has the right to seek divorce.

Nevertheless, it is advisable not to rush into seeking a divorce and to strive for reconciliation, involving relatives as mediators. If reconciliation is not possible, then divorce is the last resort.
