What should the questioner do about having forged a receipt for a payment to a matchmaker, knowing that she is still unaware of it?

It is permissible to act as an intermediary in proposing to a woman for a financial compensation. This falls under the category of brokerage (samsarah) and a stipulated fee (ju'alah), provided that the requested specifications for the girl are met. It is necessary to provide the phone number of her guardian, not the girl herself, after her consent.

The fee is not due until the agreed-upon work is executed. It is permissible to request an upfront portion of it as an advance payment, which is refundable if the outcome is not achieved.
