How can we reconcile the saying of the People of the Sunnah and the Community that Hell and Paradise will not perish, with the Qur'anic verses that indicate a specified duration for dwelling in Hell (such as "for ages" and "except what Allah wills"), and the sayings of some Companions and Successors which imply the perishing of Hell or the exit of its inhabitants from it one day, taking into consideration that some texts describe the eternal dwelling of disbelievers in Hell "forever"?

The problem you mentioned concerning this issue was brought up by Ibn al-Qayyim in "Hadi al-Arwah" and "Shifa' al-Alil." This issue has been thoroughly researched previously. Among those who reconciled the seemingly contradictory verses regarding it is Sheikh Muhammad Al-Amin Al-Shinqiti in "Daf' Iyham al-Idtirab 'an Ayat al-Kitab" concerning Allah's saying: {He will say, "The Fire is your residence, wherein you will abide eternally, except for what Allah wills."} [Al-An'am: 128], and His saying: {They will remain therein for ages [successive].} [An-Naba: 23]. One should devote time and effort to guiding people and helping them repent, as this is more beneficial for the Ummah and yields greater reward than raising previously settled issues.
