If the money your husband borrowed reaches the threshold () on its own, or when combined with other money you possess, then you are not obliged to pay on it before receiving it, as long as he is in straitened circumstances. Rather, zakat becomes due on it once you receive it. You should then immediately, upon receiving it, pay one year's zakat. Some opinions state that you should pay zakat for all the past years.
