Does "balah bil laban" (dates with milk) fall under the prohibition of soaking or mixing dates with anything?

The prohibition of mixing two things does not apply to dates and milk, but rather to mixtures from which intoxication is feared, such as dates and raisins. Most scholars have interpreted this prohibition as one of disliking (tanzih), unless it leads to intoxication. This differs from some Maliki scholars who ruled it haram, and some Hanafi scholars who saw no disliking in it. Therefore, there is no harm in soaking dates in milk as long as it does not become intoxicating.
