Is it correct to refer to the continuation of winds for eight days and link it to the Qur'anic verse, "He subjected it to them for seven nights and eight days in succession," knowing that the winds in the verse are those of torment upon the people of 'Ad, whereas the winds of these days are beneficial?

There is no harm in reporting expected strong winds and the like, and this does not constitute a claim to knowledge of the unseen. However, stating that the expected days are what Allah meant by His saying: "He made it rage against them for seven nights and eight days in succession," is a lie against Allah. The verse speaks of the days during which Allah destroyed the people of 'Aad. Those days are specific to the people of 'Aad and do not recur every year, nor are they days of ill omen for humanity in general. Al-Tahir ibn 'Ashur described them as days of severe evil that afflicted 'Aad alone, and that inventing the naming of specific days as "Ayyam Al-Husum" (days of decisive judgment) and claiming that they are days of ill omen every year is a fabrication and a lie against the pious predecessors.
