Does congregational prayer at home suffice for congregational prayer in the mosque?

Congregational prayer is a great ritual. Scholars have differed regarding its ruling, and the most authoritative opinion is that it is an individual obligation (fardh ayn) upon adult men, based on sound evidence. Among these is what Muslim narrated, that the Prophet (peace be upon him) intended to burn the houses of those who stayed behind from it, and what Muslim narrated from Abdullah: "Indeed, I have seen us, and no one would stay behind from the prayer except a hypocrite whose hypocrisy was known, or a sick person." Also, the Prophet (peace be upon him) did not grant the blind man a dispensation to abandon congregational prayer. Therefore, it is not permissible to abandon the congregation in the mosque except for an excuse such as illness or fear, otherwise, the one who stays behind would be characterized by a trait of the hypocrites.
