Is magic real, and who deals in it, and was the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, afflicted by magic, and how is magic detected, and what is its cure and method of prevention?

Magic consists of knots, incantations, and words that affect the bewitched person by Allah's permission. It may kill or cause illness. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, was indeed bewitched, but his magic was only an illusion. Its cure involves extracting the magic itself, or by reciting the Quran (Al-Fatiha, Ayat al-Kursi, the end of Surat al-Baqarah, al-Mu'awwidhatayn, and verses from al-A'raf, Yunus, and Taha) into water for drinking and bathing with it, along with diligently performing acts of obedience, reciting remembrances, and avoiding prohibitions.
