Is it permissible for a woman to lead congregational prayers in a mosque, and what are the conditions for her imamate?

It is not permissible for a woman to lead men in prayer, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "Place women where Allah has placed them (behind men)." Furthermore, leadership (Imamah) is a form of authority (wilayah), and authority is only valid for men, as the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "No people will prosper who appoint a woman to lead them." However, it is permissible for a woman to lead other women in prayer.
