Is it permissible for a woman to lead women in congregational prayer, and what are the conditions for her imamate?

The preponderant opinion is that it is permissible for a woman to lead other women in prayer. The most deserving among them to lead is the one who has memorized the most of the Book of Allah and has the most knowledge of the rulings of prayer, based on the saying of the Prophet, peace be upon him: "The one who is most knowledgeable of the Book of Allah among the people should lead them in prayer."
