Is it incumbent upon the capable father to teach his children swimming, archery, and horsemanship, and how is preparation with strength and horses to be achieved by the one who is able, as mentioned in the verse?

It has been previously explained that learning archery, swimming, and horsemanship is virtuous, as is teaching these skills to children. This instruction is commendable but not an individual obligation (wajib ayn) upon every responsible person. It is commendable for a father to teach his children these matters and whatever else benefits them. As for how to prepare strength and the meaning of "ribat" in the noble verse, both have been clarified in previous fatwas.
