Is the profession of a gym trainer (coach) forbidden (haram)?

There is no objection to working as a sports coach, provided that one avoids the reprehensible acts found in sports clubs, such as music, forbidden mixing, and the exposure of awrah (private parts), especially what some athletes do by exposing the grave awrah.
