What are the authentic hadiths regarding the virtue of Duha prayer?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

Dhuha prayer is a confirmed Sunnah, proven to have been performed by the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. He used to pray four rak'ahs and add as many as Allah willed, and he advised his companions to pray it. Several hadiths mention its virtues, including that it suffices as charity for all the joints of the body, that it was the Prophet's recommendation to Abu Hurairah and Abu Darda, may Allah be pleased with them, and that it spares the servant from the worries of the late afternoon if he prays four rak'ahs early in the day. It is called the prayer of the "Awwabin" (those who frequently turn to Allah in repentance) for those who consistently perform it. And whoever prays Fajr in congregation, then remembers Allah until the sun rises, and then prays two rak'ahs, will have a reward like that of a complete Hajj and Umrah.
