How many Rak'ahs are there in the Duha Prayer? And how is it prayed?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

Dhuha prayer is a confirmed Sunnah. Scholars unanimously agree that its minimum is two rak'ahs, but they differed on its maximum. The preponderant opinion is that it is twelve rak'ahs, based on the hadith narrated by Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever prays Dhuha twelve rak'ahs, Allah will build for him a palace in Paradise." It is preferable to pray them individually, two rak'ahs by two rak'ahs, though it is permissible to pray them in congregation occasionally. It is also permissible to pray them as four or six rak'ahs with a single taslim.
