What is the ruling on appearing on satellite channels that feature women and songs?

It is necessary to avoid participating in channels predominantly characterized by immorality and transgression, unless such participation achieves a greater legitimate benefit, like inviting to Allah and teaching religion. As for channels not predominantly characterized by transgression, such as news or sports channels, there is no harm in participating in them if they do not include anything forbidden, like intermingling (of sexes) or musical instruments.
