Television and satellite dishes are two tools that can be used for good and for calling to Allah. However, those who own them often fail to adhere to Islamic law regarding what is permissible to watch and what is not. Therefore, it is safer to avoid them, or to use them for playing video tapes. There is no harm in benefiting from them to watch useful programs on channels known for good, while lowering the gaze, promptly changing what is not permissible to look at, and being able to set the device to a specific channel.
