Wealth is a trust and a test. The Muslim must know that Allah will question him about it on the Day of Resurrection: "From where did he acquire it? And in what did he spend it?" Excessive indulgence in luxuries diminishes a person's status with Allah and goes against the guidance of the righteous predecessors.
