Is it permissible for a woman to write the marriage contract?

The one who writes marriage contracts is called "Ma'dhun" or "Ma'dhun al-Ankiha" or "Aqid al-Nikah (definition)" (marriage officiant). This individual conducts the marriage contract according to Sharia (definition) conditions and formalizes it, ensuring the consent of both parties, the presence of the legal guardian (wali), and verifying the identity of the witnesses and the dowry (mahr). The Ma'dhuniyyah (office of the Ma'dhun) is a branch of the judiciary, and the Ma'dhun acts as a deputy for the Sharia judge. He must be a Muslim, male, adult, sane, and of sound judgment. A woman may facilitate the preparation of a marriage contract, but she is not permitted to conduct it herself, based on the statement of Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her): "Indeed, women do not give themselves in marriage." However, there is no harm in formalizing the marriage contract after its Sharia completion, but she is not permitted to witness it or to conduct the contract without a guardian.
