Is it permissible for a woman to solemnize a marriage contract between a couple, and if not, what is the ruling concerning those whose marriage contract was solemnized by a woman?

It is not permissible for a woman to undertake the marriage contract for herself or for others, according to the majority of scholars. If she does so for others, the contract is invalid, but the child is attributed to its father, and the wife is entitled to her dowry and all her other rights. However, if the woman is merely prompting the wording of the formula to the husband and the guardian, and is not acting as an agent for them, then the contract is valid if its conditions and pillars are met and its impediments are absent, with the presence of witnesses and the issuance of offer and acceptance from them both.
