Is zakat obligatory on the rent of an inherited house that is used for household expenses?

There is no Zakat on an inherited house. Zakat becomes obligatory on each heir's share of its rent if it reaches the nisab (minimum threshold) either by itself or by being added to what they own of gold, silver, and business merchandise, and a hawl (full lunar year) has passed on it.
