However, the fatwa was based on general evidence necessitating the blocking of paths to discord (fitna) and means leading to evil, among which is unlawful mixing between genders. There is no difference in this regard between one job and another as long as the forbidden element exists. However, the fatwa specifically addressed a woman working as an accountant because the questioner specifically inquired about this matter.
