Must I offer expiation for an oath after I swore to divorce my husband, and then we reconciled?

Marriage in Islam aims to establish family stability through love and mercy, and this is achieved by each spouse knowing and fulfilling the rights of the other. Among the wife's rights is good companionship, as Allah Almighty says: "And live with them honorably." This includes fulfilling her rights and refraining from harming her. Insulting the wife or cursing her or her family, especially her deceased parents, is oppression and bad companionship, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Do not insult the dead, for they have gone on to what they offered." Anger is one of Satan's weapons to separate spouses, and one should be wary of it and move away when angry, as Ali ibn Abi Talib, may Allah be pleased with him, did. Whoever swore by Allah to divorce her husband but did not do so, an expiation for breaking an oath is incumbent upon her, and she should do what is better.
