Is it permissible for a Christian daughter to pray for me, her Muslim mother?
A Christian daughter may pray for her Muslim mother, or a disbeliever may pray for a believer in general. Allah Almighty may accept prayers of supplication from believers and non-believers, as this relates to His Lordship and provision. This is affirmed by the : "Beware of the supplication of the oppressed, even if he is a disbeliever, for there is no barrier between it and Allah." Ibn Taymiyyah and Ibn al-Qayyim mentioned that Allah answers the prayers of disbelievers, the distressed, and the oppressed, whether they are believers or disbelievers. This is also exemplified in the story of the Jewish woman who prayed for 'Aishah, may Allah be pleased with her.
