A believer should not base rulings on a dream or doubt someone who has treated them well and whose outward appearance is righteous. A dream brings joy and does no harm. If one of you sees a dream he likes, let him praise Allah for it and speak of it. But if he sees what he dislikes, let him seek refuge in Allah from its evil, and not mention it to anyone, for it will not harm him. If he sees what he dislikes in his sleep, let him spit to his left, and seek refuge in Allah from its evil, and not tell anyone about it, and it will not harm him like what he saw. And let him beware of the whispers of Satan in this regard.
