Is it permissible for someone to enter the prayer while on their knees?

If entering the prayer on the knees means the opening takbir on the knees without standing, while being able to stand, then the obligatory prayer is not valid due to the omission of the pillar of standing. It is not permissible to intentionally do this act. As for supererogatory prayers, they are valid when performed sitting.
