What is the benefit of Allah questioning His servants in some texts, such as His questioning of Gabriel: "What do you hope for?"

Allah Almighty questions His angels about His servants for several reasons, including: to demonstrate His grace upon them through mercy and forgiveness, to clarify the superiority of the obedient who believed in Him unseen, and to explain the reason for His boasting about them to the angels. This is what Ibn Hajar mentioned: that Allah answers the angels regarding their question when Adam was created.
