What is the meaning of Ibn al-Jawzi's saying: "If you see a Hadith that contradicts reason… then know that it is fabricated," when there are many Hadiths that contradict reason, such as the Messenger seizing the jinn by the neck, the creation of camels from jinn, and the tree coming to him?

Everything proven to be from the Prophet (peace be upon him) is in accordance with reason and natural disposition, and sound reason cannot contradict sound transmitted texts. The Prophet (peace be upon him) may inform us of things that confound minds due to their inability to comprehend them, not things that minds deem impossible. Whatever contradicts clear reason is false, and there is nothing false in the Qur'an, Sunnah, or scholarly consensus. A fabricated hadith is one that contradicts clear reason, sound transmitted texts, or fundamental principles. A sound hadith may contain matters that reason is incapable of fully grasping, such as miracles and unseen news. This does not contradict reason but rather confounds it, so submission to it is obligatory. As for the hadith: "Pray in sheepfolds, but do not pray in camel enclosures, for they were created from devils," the meaning is that eating camel meat inherits a satanic force, or that they were created with a characteristic resembling jinn in aversion and harm.
