The scholars are in agreement that it is not permissible to delay the prayer until its time has expired for the sake of performing it in congregation. Rather, the obligation is to hasten to perform it before its time expires. Whoever fears the expiration of the time is obligated to immediately perform the prayer. The prohibition of praying at known times is specific to supererogatory prayers that have no particular reason. As for the obligatory prayer, it is to be prayed at any time, according to the majority of scholars.
