Is the Fajr prayer considered to have been performed on time if it was prayed before sunrise?

The time for Fajr prayer begins with the appearance of the true dawn (when its light spreads horizontally across the horizon) and extends until sunrise. It is forbidden to delay the prayer beyond its prescribed time. Moreover, congregational prayer is obligatory for every accountable male, and it is not permissible to abstain from it except for a valid excuse.
