What is the ruling on reciting Surat Ya-Sin for the deceased on Thursday night, and what is the ruling on completing the Quran for childbirth and sustenance, citing the noble Hadith: "Recite Ya-Sin over your dead"?

The recommendation to recite Surat "Yasin" on the night of or during the day of Friday has no basis, and singling out the recitation of a specific surah at a particular time is an impermissible innovation (bid'ah). The hadith mentioned in this regard is weak. Reciting the Quran in general is blessed and rewarded. As for completing the Quran (khatm al-Quran) to bring sustenance and children, there is no basis for it. However, some of the predecessors would gather their families and supplicate to Allah upon completing the Quran. A person is permitted to supplicate for whatever they wish, as long as it is not sinful. One must be cautious of innovations and superstitions, for the religion is complete.
