What is the ruling on reciting Surat Ya-Sin for the deceased on Thursday night, and what is the ruling on completing the Quran for childbirth and sustenance, citing the noble Hadith: "Recite Ya-Sin over your dead"?
The recommendation to recite Surat "Yasin" on the night of or during the day of Friday has no basis, and singling out the recitation of a specific at a particular time is an impermissible innovation (bid'ah). The mentioned in this regard is weak. Reciting the Quran in general is blessed and rewarded. As for completing the Quran (khatm al-Quran) to bring sustenance and children, there is no basis for it. However, some of the predecessors would gather their families and supplicate to Allah upon completing the Quran. A person is permitted to supplicate for whatever they wish, as long as it is not sinful. One must be cautious of innovations and superstitions, for the religion is complete.
