Can an act of disbelief (kufr 'amali) lead to expulsion from the Muslim community?

The practical disbelief (kufr amali) that expels one from the fold of Islam is that which is akin to prostrating or sacrificing to other than Allah, or praying to idols, planets, and jinn and prostrating to them, as well as insulting the religion or the Messenger, or mocking Allah or the Messenger. This type of disbelief is considered a major practical disbelief (amali akbar) by the Ahl al-Sunnah wal-Jamaah.
