Is watching an artwork that includes mockery of religion an act of disbelief (kufr), and does one who follows that work become a disbeliever (kafir) even if he turns away from the scenes of mockery?

It is not permissible to watch films and TV series that include mockery of religion, or disbelief (kufr), or other forbidden things such as immodest display (tabarruj), music, and intermingling (ikhtilat). For watching evil (munkar) is forbidden. If the series include disbelief, then the prohibition is even more severe. Watching and hearing disbelief falls under the Qur'anic prohibition: "And He has already revealed to you in the Book that when you hear the verses of Allah being denied and ridiculed, do not sit with them until they engage in another conversation. Indeed, in that case, you would be like them." Mere viewing is not disbelief, but disbelief is being pleased with it and condoning it. As for one who dislikes it, he does not disbelieve, but he sins as long as he is not excused.
