How should a wife deal with her husband who boasts about the sin of adultery and hashish use, and who suspects her, despite knowing that she fears God and obeys Him? Is separation from him the solution? And is visiting her family without his knowledge forbidden?

A wife must seek her husband's permission to go out, even to visit her parents. If he forbids her, she may not go out, and obeying him is more obligatory for her than obeying her mother, unless he permits it. It is recommended for the husband to permit his wife to visit her parents and show kindness to them, as this involves maintaining ties of kinship. The husband must protect and safeguard his wife without extravagance or suspicion towards her, for praiseworthy jealousy stems from doubt, not from other things. A Muslim who repents from sins must conceal himself and not openly declare his transgressions, for speaking about them does not indicate the sincerity of repentance.
