How can the Prophet's saying to the Companions, "But you are a people who are impatient," when they sought victory at the beginning of Islam, be reconciled with verse 214 of Surat Al-Baqarah, which states, "until the Messenger and those who believed with him say, 'When is the help of Allah?'"?

The gist of the Fatwa:

The Hadith does not condemn seeking help but rather hastening it. And the verse, "until the Messenger and those who believed with him say, 'When is the help of Allah?'" has been interpreted by scholars with several sayings, among them that it refers to Isaiah or every Messenger who was afflicted, or Muhammad, may Allah's prayers and peace be upon him. Most exegetes believe that the question from the Messenger and the believers is not out of doubt but out of hastening the victory, and the name "Messenger" here is a generic term.
