Is it permissible for a divorced woman to wait for a specific person to marry, knowing that he is currently unable to propose to her, and without any promises between them?

It is permissible for a woman to wait for the man she has become attached to, for him to propose to her, provided she is safe from temptation and does not fear losing her prime years. However, it is not lawful for her to correspond with him or speak to him because he is a stranger [non-mahram].

It is advised that she not do so. Instead, she should pray to Allah to facilitate something better for her, especially if she is divorced, so that she may protect her chastity and accept a man of good character and religiosity, without attaching her heart to an unknown person who might cause her to miss her opportunities for marriage.
