What should one do who intends to wipe over his socks, but they have a foul odor that he fears might bother the worshippers?

The worshipper should be clean in body and clothes so as not to harm the angels and fellow worshippers. For this reason, it is emphasized to perform ghusl, use the miswak, and apply perfume on Friday. Also, one is forbidden from eating onions or garlic before entering the mosque. If the socks have an unpleasant smell, they must be removed and the feet washed; otherwise, the person is ordered to leave the mosque.
