A daughter who dies during her father's lifetime does not inherit from him, and the daughter's son does not inherit from his grandfather because he is considered among the uterine kin (dhawu al-arham). If a man dies survived by five sons and one daughter only, the inheritance is divided among them, with the male receiving the equivalent of the share of two females, so it is divided into eleven shares. Issues of inheritance should be referred to the Sharia courts to verify all heirs, wills, and debts, as these take precedence over the rights of the heirs.
