Is boycotting a sister who verbally abuses considered a severing of family ties, and is there sin upon one for that, especially since one feels at peace after this boycott? And is one sinful if one rebukes a disbelieving maid who deals with one with annoyance? What is the Witr prayer, its number of rak’ahs, its description, and its time? And what is the number of rak’ahs for Taraweeh prayer, and is it permissible to hold the Mushaf or a book of supplications during its prayer?

If the ostracism of a sister is due to her violation of Sharia (definition), or to avert her harm, or to deter her, then it is permissible. However, ostracism for personal or worldly reasons is not permissible, and it is sufficient to end it by greeting her with salaam, without requiring extensive social interaction with her. It is recommended to associate with righteous women, attend women's gatherings and Qur'an memorization circles, and utilize free time by reading books and listening to beneficial audio recordings. It is permissible to reprimand a misbehaving maid and discipline her in a manner commensurate with her misconduct, without exceeding bounds.
