Is it sunnah for the Imam to face the congregants after the prayer, or should he turn to his right or left during the adhkar?

It is from the Sunnah for the Imam to turn his face towards the congregants after the Tasleem of the prayer, and not remain facing the Qiblah. The proof for this is the action of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. He may depart to his right or his left, and both are established in the Sunnah. Although some scholars preferred departing to the right, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, would sometimes do this and sometimes that. So, each Companion reported what they saw more often, and both are permissible.
