Is it permissible for a girl to take from her father’s money, which he deposited with her, without his knowledge, in order to prepare herself for marriage, as compensation for her right to her mother’s maintenance which her father takes and does not spend on her from it, knowing that he is well-off and refuses to equip her?

Equipping the marital home is the husband's sole responsibility. The deceased mother's pension, if it was her rightful due, is an inheritance to be divided among all heirs. However, if it was a grant, determining its rightful recipient depends on the condition set by the granting authority. If the father took from the mother's pension what was rightfully his daughter's without a legitimate reason, she may take an equivalent amount from his money deposited with her, provided that the father took her right without a legitimate reason; because a father may take from his child's wealth according to his need, without harming the child. In summary: it is not permissible for the daughter to take from her father's deposit without his knowledge, unless her father takes her entitlements from her mother's pension without adhering to the Shariah guidelines. In that case, she may take from him an amount equivalent to what he took from her unjustly.
