Does bringing one or two housemaids to care for a grandmother who suffers from frequent defecation in her diapers and housing them in her private home constitute disobedience to parents? And is it permissible to take an old piece of clothing (rag) belonging to the grandmother without informing her, knowing that she does not use it now?

Islam has enjoined honoring one's mother and treating her with kindness, especially when she reaches old age and weakness. Indeed, kindness towards her is emphasized at this stage due to her weakness and need. A son must treat his sick mother with kindness, and perhaps his patience with her will expiate his sins. If she cannot control her excrement, there is no harm in her living in a separate dwelling with the provision of women to serve her, while continuing to visit and care for her. It is not religiously obligatory for the mother or the wife of the paternal cousin to serve her. As for taking the shawl, it is not permissible except with the permission of the grandmother, if she is aware and rational.
